Water Operator

Successful candidate must be able to perform responsible operator tasks and necessary tests related to the processing of potable water. Responsibilities include sample testing, controlling and adjusting mechanical, electrical, electronic and chemical equipment; does other work as required. Work schedule will a 12-hour day rotating shift, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes weekend and holiday work.
Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent; and a valid Virginia driver's license. Special requirements include a minimum Class II Waterworks license; willing to consider Class III Operators who are committed to promptly advancing their licensure levels.
Work is performed under the general supervision of the Manager, Assistant Manager or Water Supervisor of the Water Department. If you are interested in this position, please complete and submit an application.

Maintenance Mechanic

Candidate must be able to perform advanced aspects of mechanical and electrical repairs/replacement of equipment. Work schedule is M-F, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., rotating on-call schedule is required.
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, with a minimum two years of work experience in a related maintenance field. Must possess a personal phone, valid VA Driver's License with (or ability to obtain) a Class A CDL endorsement. Must have or obtain Flagman Certification.
Work is performed under the immediate supervision of the Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, or other designated person.
