Wastewater Operator

Candidate must be able to perform routine operator tasks and necessary tests related to the processing of wastewater; does related maintenance and mechanical work as required. Work schedule could include 12-hour rotating shifts and includes weekend and holiday work.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent; and a valid Virginia driver's license. A minimum Class II Wastewater Operator's License is preferred.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Manager or Assistant Manager of the Wastewater Department. If you are interested in this position, please complete and submit an application.


Water Operator

Candidate must be able to perform responsible operator tasks and necessary tests related to the processing of potable water. Responsibilities include sample testing, controlling and adjusting mechanical, electrical, electronic and chemical equipment; does other work as required. Work schedule could include a 12-hour day rotating shift, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and includes weekend and holiday work.

Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent; and a valid Virginia driver’s license. Special requirements include a minimum Class III Waterworks license.

Work is performed under the general supervision of the Manager, Assistant Manager or Water Supervisor of the Water Department. If you are interested in this position, please complete and submit a completed application.
