Leah Beard joined Rivanna Water & Sewer Authority and the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority in Charlottesville, Virginia as HR/Office Manager in January 2024. Leah provides guidance in employee relations, recruiting, retention, training, benefits planning, and administration and oversight of federal and state employer regulatory compliance issues.
Prior to joining Rivanna, Leah worked at the UVA Credit Union, and was the Assistant Director of Diversity & Inclusion at UVA’s School of Medicine. Leah has her Bachelor’s in Education from Longwood University, and her Master’s of Public Administration from Old Dominion University, and has also earned the SHRM-SCP certification.
Away from work, Leah enjoys attending sporting events, but most of all getting to see her daughter play volleyball for Catawba College.
