Mulch Madness at Ivy MUC
To celebrate the coming of Spring and as a result of vegetation collected during the Albemarle County and City of Charlottesville-sponsored vegetation fee waiver, the Rivanna Solid Waste Authority is hosting a Mulch Madness event to offer free, double ground mulch to County and City residents at the Ivy Material Utilization Center, located at 4576 Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville, VA 22903. The mulch giveaway will run from March 5, 2022 to April 16, 2022. No purchase is necessary. Each customer can receive up to two tons free, additional tons will be charged at the rate of $30/ton. Following the severe snow storm, Albemarle County and the City of Charlottesville are sponsoring a waiver of fees for residents to dispose of storm-related vegetative debris, such as tree limbs, at the Ivy Material Utilization Center (Ivy MUC). The waiver will be in effect from Thursday, January 6 through Monday, January 24. Vegetative debris collected will be ground into mulch and available for purchase at Ivy MUC.
