2-6-19: Free mulch now available at Darden Towe Park Free mulch is now available at Darden Towe Park, while the supply lasts. Bring a shovel and help yourself. The park is open 7 am until dark each day. The Christmas Tree recycling program is run by the Albemarle County Parks and Rec Department. This is a program that recycles discarded Christmas Trees that are chipped into mulch and offered to the public for free. Charlottesville, VA – December 14, 2018 Effective January 1, 2019, the fees for Domestic Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) and Construction & Demolition Debris (CDD) will be reduced from $66.00 to $52.00 per ton at the Ivy Material Utilization Center, located at 4576 Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville VA, 22903. The reduced tipping fees are consistent with the average tipping fees for transfer stations in neighboring counties. Water has been restored to all ACSA customers. The process to refill Piney Mountain Tank continues; it is currently at about 17.5 feet. The water line break near Dickerson and Airport Roads has been repaired. A second water line break has been located between the North Rivanna Water Treatment Plant and Route 29.
